In the fall of 2006, Appel held an "Oldest Furnace Contest" where the entrant with the oldest furnace would get a new high efficiency model free. We had a number of entries and had a winner who had a 40 year old furnace original to the house. The winner was a Rybolt gas "lowboy" and the runner up, a year newer, was the same model! The new furnace, courtesy of Capitol Supplies, is an Air Ease Tech 91 at 91% AFUE which will save the family considerably over the 55-60% AFUE Rybolt we removed. Here's some shots...
